Veneers Easily Remedy More Smile Flaws Than You Thought

Veneers don't just improve your smile, they also provide health benefits. Veneers are made of thin pieces of either porcelain or composite resin. Their versatile design corrects multiple smile issues quickly and effectively. Not to mention, the procedure is minimally invasive.

At Today’s Dentistry in San Jose, CA, Peter Lee, DDS specializes in customizing veneers to fit your mouth perfectly. Do you want to fix cosmetic and non-cosmetic issues while keeping natural teeth intact? Achieving a smile you can be proud of is as simple as electing veneers as an option for treatment.

What are veneers?

Veneers can help you recreate the look and feel of your natural teeth. They're made to bond seamlessly to existing teeth and provide a long-lasting, highly-effective solution to several dental issues.

Veneers are made of a thin porcelain shell that's great for hiding unsightly discoloration or chips in your teeth. The porcelain offers a stain-free solution that comfortably fits the shape of your mouth.

Dental veneers address these common concerns:

Take your smile from dull and disfigured to beautiful and completely functional.

What to expect?

During your initial visit, you should discuss your goals with Dr. Lee. He'll determine the right process for you. He'll evaluate whether or not you're a good candidate for the procedure before assessing which type of veneer best suits your needs. Veneers are customized in a dental lab using a mold of your teeth where they're made to fit your mouth exactly.

During your next appointment, Dr. Lee will cleanse your teeth. This will keep bacteria from becoming trapped underneath the veneer. Once the veneer arrives, the doctor will adjust it to fit your mouth. The veneer bakes in a kiln-like oven until it hardens, matching the natural shade of your teeth. Appling a binding cement to the veneer, Dr. Lee uses ultraviolet light to harden it in place.

Dr. Lee then removes excess cement and evaluates your bite for any necessary adjustments. Once it’s set in place, you’re free to return home. Veneers are made to last between seven and 15 years. Keep in mind, you should visit our office for biannual check-ups to maintain your results and ensure you stay healthy.

There's no downtime for veneers, and you can eat and drink as normal following your procedure. Daily actives aren't made difficult by adverse side effects, which means you can enjoy your new smile right away.
