Dr Peter Lee is now performing the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™) in San Jose, CA
As seen on the Doctors Show, the Dr. Steve Show, NBC, ABC and many other news outlets.
If you have receding gums and have been told you need to have scalpel and suture gum surgery, there is an exciting new breakthrough procedure called The Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™). This procedure is an incision-free, suture-free procedure for treating gum recession.
Receding gums are a real problem and need to be treated.
“Receding gums look terrible, they cause sensitivity to cold and can lead to tooth loss. When gum recession occurs, the root structure of the tooth becomes exposed. This means that tooth decay and other problems can affect the teeth along the gum line and beneath it. Causing pain and higher dental costs. ” says Dr. Peter Lee
Until now, the standard treatment has been gum-grafting surgery, a painful procedure in which a section of gum tissue is cut out of the patient’s palate and sewn on to the affected area.
But what if Dr Peter Lee could simply slide receding gums back down into place in minutes with no cutting, no stitches and no downtime? Dr. Peter Lee has been performing the Pinhole Surgical Technique™ (also known as Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation™) to do just that. Here’s Dr. Lee on the Pinhole Surgical Technique™
What is the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™)?
Unlike traditional grafting techniques, PST™ is minimally invasive. Through a small pinhole made by a needle, Dr. Lee uses specially designed instruments to gently loosen the gum tissue and glide it over the receded part of the tooth.
There are no grafts, no sutures, and no incisions needed with the Pinhole Surgical Technique. It simply involves the adjustment of the existing tissue.
Since there is no incision or suturing, patients can expect minimal post-operative symptoms (pain, swelling and bleeding). Most patients also are pleasantly surprised by the instant cosmetic improvement.
What are the benefits of Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™)?
The benefits of the Pinhole Surgical Technique are many:
- After treatment the patient experiences much less pain and discomfort
- Faster recovery time for the patient versus the traditional grafting and suture method
- No uncomfortable sutures
- No scalpels or invasive surgical tools and procedures
- No upper mouth pain caused by the traditional method of taking donor tissue from the patient’s palate
- Excellent, natural-looking, long-lasting results
A 33-month study of 43 patients with 121 gum recessions using the Pinhole Surgical Technique™ was published in the October, 2012, issue of the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. The results of this study were as successful as the standard procedure, while patients who underwent the Pinhole Surgical Technique reported virtually no pain, no bleeding and high satisfaction with the almost instant transformation of the defective gum line.
